Day Tours



1. Kruger National Park

Depart Game Lodge Klein Bolayi in the morning and will enter through Pafuri Gate in the north of the park. Game drive to Crook's Corner, three country corner: South Africa - Mozambique - Zimbabwe.

Lunch in Camp Punda Maria

Back to Game Lodge Klein Bolayi through Venda.

The capita of Venda is Thohoyandou, which means "Head of the Elephant". Venda is known for its Rondavels, small round houses with thatched roofs, which cover the hills in their hundreds. Venda has a very varied country side with interesting tropical plants, plenty of rivers, hot springs and waterfalls.

2. Hot Springs of Tshipsi

The hot springs lie 525m above see level and rheumatism suffers will find relive in the 65C sulfur spring. This is a green oasis with Acacias, Baobabs, Flamboyant, Frangipanis, Jacarandas and Bougainvilleas in the dry Bushveld.

3. World Heritage Site Mapungubwe

In the area around Mapungubwe Hill, a flat rock mount the remains of an earlier human settlement were found. It was discovered through research that the city of Mapungubwe was the cultural metropolis in the year 1000. The artisans where creating art on a high niveau and that there were trade between Mapungubwe and Egypt and other Arabian states.

A golden rhino was found in 1933 in the royal grave area, as well preserved Bushman paintings.

Mapungubwe is one of the most interesting archeological sites in South Africa and was declared a World Heritage Site not long ago.

4. VaTsonga

Is a small cultural village in the middle of Elim, is displays the life of the Shangaans and it is true pleasure to listen to the stories and legends and to glimpse a bit of their myths. Also impressive are the traditional dances to the beat of the drums.

There are a great many crafters and other artists to be seen: Wood carvers, potters as well as textiles in traditional designs.

It is possible to visit a traditional healer, who will explain the healing techniques and the meaning of the bones.

5. Crocodile Farm

Near Pondrift we visit a Crocodile Farm near the Limpopo River. The Crocodile Farm has more then thousands of Crocodiles in every size. At the gift shop you can buy belts and purses out of the leather of crocodiles.



5 day tour of the Kruger National Park and the Drakensberg



Start at Game Lodge Klein Bolayi.

Day 1

Drive through Pafuri Gate into Kruger National Park. The Park was named after Paul Kruger, the president of the first Boer Republic. The first night will be spent at the Shingwedzi Camp, which is famous for its bird life. The camps are secure, safe and feel like a great oasis in the middle of the bush. Typical of the northern part of the Kruger National Park are the Mopane Trees with its butterfly shaped leaves and the dense forests in the river regions.

Day 2

Early in the morning game drives to the Camp Mopane, which is situated at a large waterhole, with many hippos and crocodiles. Breakfast will be served at the camp before traveling on to Camp Olifants. This camp lies at a steep cliff which offers a spectacular view of the river, mountains and the plentiful game. Over-night stay in the Camp Olifants

Day 3

Also early in the morning, game drive to Camp Satara with breakfast at the camp. Exit through Paul Kruger Gate to Sabie. The town Sabie is situated at the foot of Mount Anderson and the Machbergs and is surrounded by lush forests and waterfalls. The night will be spent in a comfortable Guesthouse with breakfast.

Day 4

Day tours to:

a) Blyde River Canyon with the three Rondavels, a gigantic gorge which is one of South Africa's natural wonders. Over the centuries sand and stone, which is carried by the water, have cut bizarre potholes into the stone walls.
b) Bourke's Luck Potholes. These deep cylindrical potholes were created by erosion of the river water.
c) God's Window gives a boundless view of thick forested mountains, the Blyde River Canyon and the lush and fertile Lowveld.
d) Pilgrim's Rest, is a picturesque Gold digger town from around the change into the 20th century.

5 Day

Drive to Johannesburg International Airport.
